E-Mobility Under Pressure

After a brief slowdown in 2023, the adoption of battery electric

vehicles (BEV) is gaining speed again. Analysts anticipate that

the global market share will grow significantly in the coming

years, with China expected to lead the way with an even larger

share. But the road ahead is not simple. The transition from

combustion to electric is no longer just about drivetrains – it’s

a shift to software-first mobility.

EV drivers today expect the latest innovations, long range with

fast charging, a hassle‐free driving experience, and continu-

ous improvements throughout the vehicle’s life. For OEMs,

meeting these expectations is challenging. Development times

remain long, hardware prototypes drive up costs, and battery

performance must improve while reducing time to market.

High warranty costs from frequent product recalls add further

pressure, and many manufacturers still struggle with complex

and slow software releases. These issues require integrated,

flexible, and scalable solutions that can accelerate develop-

ment cycles, improve quality, and enable faster and more

reliable software and system updates.
