Accelerating Product Development in
Manufacturing Industries Worldwide
AVL Japan
idehiro Nishiguchi, General Manager of ITS Japan,
discussed the partnership’s prospects and the progress
it brings to the instrumentation and test systems (ITS)
industry in Japan.
Since its founding in 1995, AVL Japan has been providing test
and measurement equipment and solutions to the Japanese
automotive industry and academic institutions.
We have already worked with DENTSU SOKEN, one of Japan’s
leading companies for system development and integration,
on several projects in the past. In 2018, DENTSU SOKEN
established the Two Pillars joint venture with the Fraunhofer
Gesellschaft in Germany to promote model-based systems
engineering (MBSE) in European manufacturing industries.
AVL's test and measurement equipment is widely used by
Japanese OEMs, as is iQUAVIS, DENTSU SOKEN's system
for supporting product planning, design and development.
We recognized that by connecting and complementing these
systems, we coYld significantly enLance cYstomer Fenefits.
In 2022, we explored solutions from a customer-centric
perspective and concluded that seamless integration of our

that this strategic business partnership will enhance our
offerings and deliver comprehensive value to our customers.
7Tecifically, tLe TartnersLiT aims to integrate %:0s testing
and simulation solutions with DENTSU SOKEN's design
support system. This integration will promote seamless
connectivity between various software used in product
development and hardware, such as testing facilities. By
teaming up with DENTSU SOKEN, we can support the entire
development process, from planning to validation, leading this
transformation and accelerating product development.
The partnership is expected to have three major effects.
Firstly, it will accelerate the automation of the entire
development process. Although development, testing and

phases. By automating these processes, we can achieve a

throughout the development period. Secondly, maintaining
data in digital form ensures traceability. Thirdly, virtual testing,
such as model-based development, will be more seamlessly
integrated into tLe worOƽow.
Since the start of our partnership last November, we have
been actively working to establish businesses in the Japanese
automotive industry. Demand is high, and we have already
received several inquiries. AVL and DENTSU SOKEN are
working collaboratively to provide customized proposals to
meet customer needs. Globally, the development environment
in the manufacturing industry is shifting from a hardware-
centric to a software-centric approach. By extending our
solutions together with DENTSU SOKEN, we aim to contribute
to the expansion of the software business not only in the
