The Road to Success
Is Diverse
Diversity is valuable and facilitates better progress and
innovation. For a long time, little attention was paid to this
fact in motorsport, but by consciously promoting female
engineers and developers, and focusing on diversity in the
race teams and engineering teams, the AVL motorsport de-
partment is also working hard to utilize and expand existing
competencies.
2023 sees the launch of a dedicated program within AVL
that invites female engineers to participate in training and
exchange programs. This Female Engineer Program has two
goals: to promote female engineers in the field of motorsport
and to act as a role model for future generations. The aim is
to systematically remove hurdles and inhibition thresholds
for talented young women. For an innovation-driven com-
pany like AVL, it is out of the question to leave the potential
of talented people untapped. The Female Engineer Program
involves practical workshops on the topics of race technolo-
gy, simulation, testbeds, and driving simulators. Assignments
at the racetrack with teams with whom AVL RACETECH
cooperates, as well as individual career coaching, round off
the program.
By embracing
diversity, we are
transforming the
future of motorsport
at all levels to benefit
together.
In general, the promotion of talent within AVL RACETECH
is of great importance. The development of the brand
ambassador portfolio shows that not only successful racing
drivers, such as Tatiana Calderon (Formula 2, among others)
or Ferdinand Habsburg (Le Mans winner 2021) are signed,
but also talented youngsters from karting and motorcycle
racing as an investment in the future.
